Tales, stories, recording projects, collaboration news, teaching, rehearsal diary and rants and giggles!
Monday 4th May, 2020
The past few weeks have been quite trying for us all, but I am have found absolute solace, focus and calm, doing these 'Gladdish-Hour' live streams each week. Yes, it's not the same as gigging to a real audience, in real bars, but it has brought people together (family and friends) and new faces from across the pond, connecting over a few afternoon bevvies, and an hours worth of live original music.
It's been a nostalgic affair for me, revisiting some really really old material from the '90s. I have enjoyed unearthing songs I use to play in my old bands (NUMB, Spacebaby) through to my uni days and beyond with Casualkai. It's also been lovely to play songs I'd written with a lot of my old friends from down south. It's kept me on my toes, engaged and it's quite challenging at times, trying to remember chord sequences and melodies..this is good though, stops me getting rusty.
Trying to sort/update my studio at present, upgrade my gear, so I can start laying down the foundations to my new album.
Keeping busy which is the main thing!
Until next Sunday...it'll be another collaborations set list of yesteryear plus some new songs.
Go to my facebook music page for more details.
Cheers, Nick x
